Mom contacted me when Baby C was two weeks old and was afraid she had missed out on doing newborn photos. We chatted and decided we would try out a swaddle session and it was perfect. Baby C was around three weeks when he came in for his newborn photo session and it was perfect.

There is a general rule when it comes to newborn photos that two weeks is the best time frame when doing posed pictures. Newborns are still in their squishy phase. They are more likely to sleep through moving them around. It was breaking my heart to get inquiries from Meridian moms wanting sessions when their babies were older. Moms had originally felt they didn’t want newborn photos. Once their baby was here and they saw how quickly they were changing they changed their minds. This is how the swaddle session was born.

Swaddle sessions are an amazing option for older babies. We do a base wrap so they are all nice and snug, then we add the color wrap on top. Doing this allows us to change the wraps multiple times during the session without disturbing your newborn. We are able to get a bunch of variety for your newborn photos and I love it. Older babies seem to love being snuggled up and swaddled. This is also a great option for people that want newborn photos, but aren’t wanting to spend hours in a super hot studio. It is also a great option for people that aren’t huge fans of the naked option.

If you are interested in booking a newborn photo session please contact me here. I would love to hear from you.
