Cake Smash sessions have been filling my schedule lately, and I love it. When I first started my business cake smash photographer wasn’t even on my radar. Honestly, I am not sure cake smash sessions were really a thing thirteen years ago. Personally, I love being able to provide a intimate moment for mom and dad to enjoy this important milestone outside of their first birthday party.

When parents contact me for a cake smash session, we go through a few different details. The first one being if they would like me to create a whole set for their cake smash or if they would like to decorate. I am finding parents have a lot of decor for the birthday party they would like to use. Being able to provide both options with different price points has been so helpful to everyone.

The second thing that we discuss is what theme they are going for. Even if the parents are decorating for the cake smash it is still helpful for me to know the theme. This helps me to be able to pull different backdrops and floors for them to pick from. I love being able to help parent really create the session they are wanting.

This mom contacted me and wanted a Christmas theme cake smash with more of a neutral look. I was so excited to help her create this set up. I think we were able to create the perfect mix of Christmas and winter with out it being too much.
