One of my favorite things about being a Boise newborn photographer is being able to photograph multiple newborns for families! When mom sent me an email wanting to book a newborn session for her second baby I was so excited to see them again. These sweet brothers are 11 months apart!

Tricks for Sibling Pictures

Sometimes getting a sibling picture is easy . Other times it’s difficult and we have to pivot. Toddlers run the session when it comes to sibling and family pictures. There are a few tricks to having more success when it comes to newborn and sibling photos. One of  the best things you can do is try and prepare them for pictures. Let them know that they will be going to a studio to take pictures several days before your session. If they are old enough you can have them practice supervised holding of their newborn brother or sister.

Once you get to your session we can talk and see what your toddler is most comfortable with. In the case of these two brothers, they were so close in age we went a different route. Brother sat behind his newborn brother. We played peek a boo an were able to get so many darling pictures of them together. We also did a series of pictures of them laying do together and those are precious as well.
