This newborn girl was absolutely perfect. I loved that her mom and dad picked purple as one of the colors they wanted for her session. Believe it or not, I rarely have the color purple requested. The most requested color for sessions for newborn girls is pink. You probably could have guessed that it was going to be pink. When I first started into becoming a newborn photographer I purchased every color you could think of for my sessions. Having a variety of colors for backdrops, props, headbands, and hats was one of the things I thought would help me to be successful. Now that I am ten years into being a newborn photographer, I have figured out my style, and realized what colors and trends most clients want.

Designing Your Newborn Session

To make sure I have what every client is wanting for their newborn session, I have a design consultation. Taking the time to sit down virtually with my clients helps us to get on the same page for their newborn session. They can share what they are looking for in color palette, props, and even poses for their session. Sometimes my clients request a color palette that I don’t currently have. If this happens then I have the time to go out and purchase the items that I need to make their vision for their session come to life.

Mom and Dad were thrilled with their newborn session and to see their thoughts and ideas come to life. Mom wanted to bring in a special dress for her baby to wear. This was the same dress that mom wore when she was a newborn. Purple and cream was the color palette they choose. This color palette complimented their newborn perfectly.
