Newborn photography in Boise is incredible. This little man came to me for his newborn session a little bit older than I typically do them. They traveled almost 500 miles to come and see me for his newborn pictures. I had photographed their three other babies. It was an honor to have them travel so far and allow me to photograph this little guy. I want to talk a few minutes about photographing babies that are a little bit older.

Can older newborns still have pictures done?

Booking while you are still pregnant is one of the key things to avoid this situation entirely. Of course there are things that happen that don’t make this possible. Personally, I have done sessions for older newborns for people that are traveling. Others have come to me wanting a session after they had gone to another photographer and they weren’t happy with their pictures. I also had a situation where a photographer canceled on them and ghosted them. All of these situations are so difficult and I try my best to squeeze in people with out sacrificing customer service or my time with my family.

Each newborn is so different, so before I book an older newborn I like to talk to mom and dad and get an idea of what their expectations are. There are also the factors that I like to look at before booking a newborn session. Some of those things are how many weeks gestation your baby was born at,  how old they are now, and many other things. If you have a newborn and haven’t booked a session, I always suggest reaching out to see what the possibilities are. You never know until you ask!
